November 2024 RebelWriMo Trackbear Results and Invitation to our December 2024 Trackbear Leaderboard

Sockmonkey November 2024 RebelWriMo Trackbear Leaderboard

Hello Sockmonkeys!

I hope everyone is doing well and staying healthy.

There is a final update post on our Winter Potluck and Blind Book Exchange, but I'm currently waiting for one participant to give their permission for the use of their photo - but if I don't receive it or if they deny use, I will find a way to obscure their face so the post can be published. Keep an eye out for that update in the near future either way.

We had a decent number of participants for our first time using this tracking site and one of their leaderboards - in fact, a couple of our participants were cheering each other on from separate social media spheres because they were able to see each other's progress via the leaderboard. It was a fun way to connect with other Sockmonkeys even if you weren't in the same online space(s) or couldn't attend any in person or online events. You can even see that some Sockmonkeys joined the leaderboard at other times in the month and added their progress from that point on. Of our 19 participants, 6 reached their stated goal or even a bit more and nearly everyone added at least some progress that showed up on the leaderboard.

Way to make progress on your goals, Sockmonkeys!

It has been mentioned at various points during November and was also brought up during our Winter Potluck, so, even though I'm getting to it a bit later than I'd hoped, there is now a December Trackbear Goal Leaderboard. If you're planning on starting a new project, continuing your November project, editing a different project or any other writing style goal, feel free to add your December goal to our Leaderboard so we can virtually cheer on your progress! (In case you aren't sure what Trackbear is or how to sign up, please look at my first post here.)

Since the blog is public, I won't be posting the invitation link on it, but it will be posted inside our Facebook group and our Discord - and if you want to join but don't have access to either of those, feel free to send an email to the Sockmonkey email (PCSockmonkeyWriters@gmail.com) and let me know you'd like the invite code and I'll send it to you as soon as I can.

Thank you to everyone who participated in our first Leaderboard and I hope more of you will join us with your writing or revising goals in the future!

Hello again Sockmonkeys!

I know, this is a lot of information at once - and some of you have already seen this if you're in our Discord or Facebook group, but I thought I'd put out a general post to inform other Sockmonkeys who may not be in either place so they know what's going on and can join us if they'd like to do so.

Trackbear is a free app/site that allows you to track your individual projects as well as to join group leaderboards and see how others are doing with their writing goals. You are welcome to set any goal  you'd like for November - writing, editing, etc. This leaderboard is a way we can all virtually cheer one another on, even if we're not all aiming for the traditional November 50K.

I don't want to post the invite code publicly, in case random internet folks stop by, but if you're interested in joining and don't have access to the Facebook group or our Discord, send me an email at PCSockmonkeyWriters@gmail.com and ask for the Trackbear code. I'll email it back as soon as possible so you can be part of the Sockmonkey Leaderboard.

This isn't sponsored or anything. Trackbear is a free site. Go to https://trackbear.app/ to sign up if you're interested. (You can also import your past projects from the other site if you don't want to lose that information!)
