Social media graphic for RebelWriMo Week 2
Hello Sockmonkeys!
The first full week of November started yesterday, so I'm here to talk a little about this week's theme in the Hero's Journey - the Supreme Ordeal or Initiation. Depending on where you are in your word count or project, you may feel you're just entering the Supreme Ordeal, you're somewhere in the middle of the Supreme Ordeal, or you're hoping the Ordeal is about to come to a close. If you haven't gotten there yet, don't worry, there's still plenty of time to do so!
Since the theme for this week had to do with an Initiation or Ordeal, it only seemed fitting to pick the title, "The Secret of Mystery Hill." At this point in a mystery, the sleuth may or may not know whodunnit, but they've likely gone through a number of things trying to gather clues to help them figure things out. Even if you're not quite sure how that new character, location, conversation or other detail exactly fits into the ending you're hoping to reach (if you even know the end at this point), just keep writing. Leave yourself a personal trail of clues in the form of notes as you write and let future you know what to look for when you come back to the story later.
I hope your writing or editing projects are all going well, whether you're taking part in our November round of RebelWriMo or not.

On the left is a green oval with the words RebelWriMo Week 2 in it above the bullet point text in black "Supreme Ordeal/Initiation". Across from these words on the right side of the white box is a black illustration of an old style detective with a magnifying glass over the words The Secret of Mystery Hill.
